| Resumen: | This DIN SPEC in accordance with the PAS procedure has been drawn up by a DIN SPEC (PAS)-consortium set up on a temporary basis. This DIN SPEC has been developed and approved by the authors named in the foreword of the DIN SPEC. This document defines the quality criteria and documentation requirements to be observed and complied with for samples of scientific surveys in market, opinion and social research. This includes both the general quality criteria and documentation requirements that are independent of the selection procedure and the mode of data collection as well as of the target group of surveys, and the criteria and requirements specific to certain selection procedures, survey modes and target groups, as well as the combination of different selection procedures and survey modes. This document does not deal with measures related to the individual quality criteria as supposed benchmarks of target achievement. Also outside the scope of this document are additional quality criteria and documentation requirements that are only relevant for individual research areas (e. g. media research, political research, social research, election research, etc.). The scientific quality of empirical survey research requires that all steps of the research process are carried out in compliance with the respective methodological requirements. Nevertheless, it can make sense, primarily from the point of view of research practice and research policy, to analytically separate a specific research step from the overall research process and to codify its specific quality criteria and documentation requirements separately. These can be treated in a more differentiated way. This document serves this purpose with regard to the drawing and realization of samples for scientific surveys in market, opinion and social research. The steps of the research process upstream and downstream of the drawing and realization of samples, from the conceptual planning of a scientific survey to the presentation and archiving of the research results, are not the subject of this document. The quality criteria and documentation requirements of these upstream and downstream research steps are defined in particular in ISO 20252, ISO 19731 and DIN EN 15707. |
