| Summary: | This Document gives recommendations for the digitization workflow for cinematographic film including magnetic sound film and preparatory work for digitization, which covers the digitization itself as well as post-treatment. Complying with these requirements shall ensure a sustainable digitization. Sustainability is reached if, to the current state of knowledge: - the best quality of the original film material is selected, - this materials are edited optimal, - the quality of the original film material retrieves in the digitization, - a suitable data format is used for the digitization and, - the post-treatment of the digitization comply with the ethical principles of archival preservation. The acquisition of sound signals exposed in digital form on film or control signals exposed in digital form for the synchronisation of external digital sound sources is not covered by this DIN SPEC. |
